Developing My Knowledge of Newspapers: Example Article

A level hit the tabloids!

Harrogate Grammar School media students
begin A level journey enticing upon the
facts behind the newspaper industry
and the philosophy in maintaining audience
awareness.

At present they have discovered newspaper
values such as frequency media, consonance
and negativity portrayed in the media eye.
One media student (William Taylor) said he
is beginning to understand how‘international
news is dispatched effectively to raise
audience awareness and contribution.’

The students also discussed whether
audiences are more trustworthy towards news
distribution via television or newspapers
Hannah Wilson, speaks out: ‘Television
seems to be more formal and believable’
and Stephanie Cawood says ‘television
offers a visual explanation of the news,
making it more reliable and trustworthy.’

The class continue their developmental
learning throughout the last few weeks
before summer departure.
